Round 15 Review of the National Basketball League: "The real Melbourne Cup".
South 117 – Gold Coast 87.
Goorj' let all 12 Dragons have a crack at the Blaze and they all contributed a bucket, Matt Burston had a team-high 26 minutes for 9 boards and 6 points, while new import Donta "Ellis" Smith had 9 points, 5 assits and 3 boards in 16 minutes.
Perth 97 – Townsville 76.The Wildcats charged through a 56-34 first half with Isiah Victor (23 points) and Peter "Facial" Crawford (19 points) leading the way, meanwhile the Crocs were 10% from long range that’s 3-of-29.
Adelaide 109 – Melbourne 91.
Hodge and the Sixers seem to have the Tigers' number, notching the second win over them this month. Hodge tormented them with 31-8-4 and the red wall was good for 39 points and 22 rebounds. Grizzard had 25 and 6 in his last game for the Tigers and the Ansteysaurus was out played by the red monster finishing with 12 and 12 and then claimed to be struck down by an unknown rare prehistoric virus.
Wollongong 121 – Sydney 117.
Sav and Blogspot Janev treated fans to an old-fashioned shoot-out. Sav was in kill-mode, the only two things that slowed him down were foul-trouble and a courtside sign that he discovered was not padded after crashing into it. This Blogspot guy sank all four attempts from deep including one from South Beach in the final minute that was worthy of Chickos.
Champoid of the Week:
In a round consisting of four games and only two of note, Saville and Hodge can share the honour.
Rotman of the Week:
The whinging Tigers are really starting to remind me of the modern New York Yankees with their disposable turnover of players.
